Sony’s new handheld hopeful is the energetically named ‘PSP Go’. It was leaked courtesy of a slip up by online magazine ‘Qore’ which publishes information about the PlayStation Network.

This mistake allowed subscribers to view the June edition earlier than intended and revealed the new handheld in detail. 

Now Sony has caught up and released official pictures but many are still waiting for the more technical details surrounding it – screen resolution? (For current specs see the sidebar).

The new sliding mechanism looks an interesting addition however from the current pictures it will be interesting to see how easy and comfortable the controls are to use. Before they were evenly distributed on either side of the screen and allowed easy access to both the analog stick and D-Pad whereas this design has your thumb reaching across the pad. 

Overall a striking new design and we’ll hopefully start to see some more details like more planned games and technologies involved soon.
